CHATHAM, N.J.– Sports Medicine Director and founder of the Madison Medical Sports Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Carmen Romano, donated a bulletproof vest to the Chatham Police Department.

“Dr. Romano is a proud supporter of emergency service providers and in addition to providing medical and rehabilitative support to those men and women working on the front lines, he has decided to contribute further to ensure their safety while serving,” said Chatham PD’s Executive Administrative Assistant Kevin O’Shea. “Dr. Romano and his staff want to do their part to help keep the community well serviced and protected so he is paying it forward and giving something back in an effort to make sure that officers have the safety equipment necessary to effectively perform their jobs during these challenging economic times.”

Chief Philip J. Crosson, Jr., accepted the donation on behalf of the department.

“This is just another example of the cooperative relationship that we share with the community and we are truly appreciative of the support that we receive every day,” he said. “It is partnerships like this that remind us that we are all part of a community and that by working together, it only strengthens and supports the bonds to make the community safer and better for everyone.”
